What we collect, why, and how we protect it — especially property addresses and photos.

Information we collect
Account details (name, email, mobile number), buyer profile details you provide, property details and photos you upload, bids, messages, ratings, saved searches, and records of deals (we do not handle or store payment card details because we don't process payments).
Technical data such as a one-way hash of your IP address for fraud prevention.
Property address privacy
Exact addresses are stored privately. Public maps show a circle about a mile wide that contains the property but is not centred on it. For yard sales, the seller chooses when the exact address becomes visible to signed-in members (for example on the morning of the sale). For whole-house auctions, the address is shown only to the winning bidder after they confirm, unless the seller chooses to show it publicly.
To draw the circle we convert the address to map coordinates using a geocoding service (Mapbox or the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder). Coordinates are stored privately.
Mobile numbers
We verify your mobile number by text message. It is shown to the other party only once a whole-house deal is confirmed, and is never shown on your public profile.
Photos
We remove embedded location metadata (EXIF/GPS) from uploaded photos. Original uploads are kept in private storage. Photos the AI flags as possibly containing personal information (family photos, documents, screens, people) are hidden from public listings by default.
How we use information
To operate the marketplace, verify accounts, prevent fraud, calculate reputation statistics, send transactional notifications and saved-search alerts, provide support, and improve our services. Analytics events never include addresses or precise locations.
Service providers
Hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), email (Resend), text messages (Twilio), AI image analysis (OpenAI), geocoding (Mapbox or U.S. Census Bureau) and maps (Mapbox/OpenStreetMap). Photos are sent to our AI provider only to generate your item list.
Your choices
You can update your profile, notification preferences, and request deletion of your account by contacting support. Some records must be retained for legal, tax and dispute purposes.
